The finest glass paperweights from the classic period (1845-1870) that were made in America, came from the New England Glass Company, and Boston & Sandwich Glass Company. A handful of great weights were made a few years later at Mt. Washington Glass Company. Weights we have for sale by these makers can be found by clicking on the appropriate button above.
There were a small number of good crimp weights made in America in Millville, New Jersey after the turn of the century, and some interesting motto weights made there and at Corning, and some folk art weights made at Sommerville during this same period. When we have good examples of these for sale they will be featured on this page.

This magnum weight from 100 years ago was made at Union Glass Company in Somerville, MA. It is a personalized weight with flowers and lampwork letters reading "Miss. Julia Regan 1916," probably in celebration of a child's birth. This example has heavy wear on a flat base, and wear and chips on the surface which could be restored if desired.

3 13/16" diameter.

$550.
